Meet the team
Dave Thomas
Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Dave founded North Wales Engineering solutions in 2010 following the personal acquisition of Hunt machining, a precision engineering company that had been operating in North Wales for over 20 years. The subsequent acquisition and integration of David Williams Fabrications, which had been operating within the area for over 100 years, provided the foundation for our current business.
Having served a recognised engineering apprenticeship in mechanical fitting and machining, and studying business at Nottingham Trent university, Dave progressed throughout his career in various engineering based roles in a number of industries, eventually employed in the role of World wide operations director for a large corporate company, before taking the plunge to run his own business.
Garry Thomas
Managing Director
Garry joined the business as Managing Director in August 2024 following 7 years in senior operational roles at Myprotein (THG) and Bulk™, whilst completing an MBA at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Garry also has a Bachelors Degree in Engineering at Aston University and is an accredited Chartered Manager at the Chartered Management Institute.
Having started an Engineering Apprenticeship at 16 and working his way up through the ranks to Director in global FMCG companies, Garry has built up extensive Engineering and Business experience at each level, which is now being applied at North Wales Engineering.
Garry is an ambitious, driven individual, with a passion for efficiency and providing a high quality customer service.
Chris Russell
Technical Director
Chris has been a part of North Wales Engineering for 14 years. Having started his apprenticeship at the age of 21 and following several promotions to Technical Director, Chris has extensive knowledge of the specific industry and technical capabilities that North Wales Engineering has to offer.
Chris also has a Higher National diploma in Engineering and Project Management.
Chris is passionate about all aspects of engineering and thrives on solving complex technical challenges.
Due to Chris’s personable approach, he has built up a wide network of industry experts and works closely with clients to turn ideas into tangible solutions.
